Leeds United fans on Twitter have been reacting to the news that Ben White won’t be recalled by Brighton as the Seagulls’ boss Graham Potter confirmed that the centre-back is to see out the season at Elland Road.
Understandably, a number of fans were buzzing after hearing this news as White has undoubtedly been one of the team’s top performers this season.
Indeed, the defender has been named as the club’s Player of the Season thus far by both fans and journalists, and his impressive showings has seen one pundit compare him to established England international John Stones.
You can completely understand why some supporters have had such a positive reaction to this update.
Of course, hearing that White is secured for the rest of this season has had some fans thinking about keeping him beyond the end of this campaign.
With the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United reportedly sniffing around him it’s hard to say whether or not Leeds have a chance of securing his services on a permanent basis, but these supporters are clearly hopeful that he’ll remain a United player beyond this term.
You’re always going to get one pessimistic section of the fanbase, and despite Potter’s reassuring words, a couple of fans were still concerned that White could leave before the end of the season if a bid comes in.
Meanwhile, we’ve assessed which election outcomes most favour Leeds in terms of getting investment from QSI.
